Identity and Web Design: Guthrie Lane

When Angela Devine, the founder and owner of Guthrie Lane, contacted Engine 8 to develop a brand identity and website we jumped at the opportunity. Our initial enthusiasm for the project was due to Angela’s authentic vision and her unwavering commitment to designing and handcrafting classic children’s clothing from her studio in downtown Livingston, Montana. A gifted clothing designer who knows her way around the sewing room, Angela has created an endearing line of children’s clothing noted for its rugged good looks and timeless style.

When Engine 8 arrived on the scene, Guthrie Lane had all of the raw ingredients to launch an invigorating brand. Our job was simply to tell Angela’s story and showcase her exceptional products. The Engine 8 design team was inspired by the traditional aesthetic that weaves its way through the Guthrie Lane ensemble. Both the logo design and the website reference the visual language of a simpler time, while maintaining a contemporary boutique attitude.

Like the garments Angela and her staff create, the logo and website project an honesty that hearkens back to a simpler time — a period when clothes were made to last and children could explore the world around them without restraint.
